Lashing FAQs

  • What are classic eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions lengthen and thicken your natural lashes with single synthetic lash strands. At your appointment we will discuss which thickness, length, and curl will best enhance your eyes. The extensions are applied to individual eyelashes, one lash at a time for a natural, classic look. They are perfect for special occasions as well as for everyday wear.

  • What is a lash lift and tint?

A lash lift (sometimes called a lash perm) chemically curls your natural lashes. The tint darkens your lashes. Done together a lift and tint really enhances your natural lashes because the curl makes them stand up in front of your eyelid, and the color makes them even more visible. You can do just a lift, just a tint, or go for both!

  • What should I do before my eyelash appointment?

You should arrive wearing no makeup at all and no moisturizer around your eyes. For best results, you should stop wearing mascara 48 hours before your first appointment.

  • How often do I need to get my lash extensions filled?

Most of my clients get filled every 2 or 3 weeks depending on how rough they are on their lashes and how perfect they want them to look at all times. I also have a few clients who come in every couple of months for a full set and then just let them fall off as their natural lashes shed.

  • What can I do to make my lash extensions last as long as possible?

Don’t get the lashes wet for 24 hours. Don’t wear mascara or gel eyeliner or anything that is going to be difficult to clean off your lashes. Keep your lashes clean with a cleanser that doesn’t contain oils. Don’t let your moisturizer get on your eyelashes. Don’t sleep on your face. Don’t pick at your lashes. Comb them gently a couple times a day. Use a lash booster to keep your natural lashes as healthy as possible.

  • How long does a lash lift and tint last?

We shed 3-5 natural lashes per day. Your lift and tint will stay looking great until you’ve shed about half the lashes (somewhere around 6 weeks). At that point you can get the tint redone to darken the new growth. You need to wait until all of the lifted lashes have shed before getting a new lift because lifting the same lash twice can cause breakage.
